Wear PURPLE this Saturday, March 8th at 9:30am to celebrate an all-female playlist in honor of International Women's Day!
All classes are located at UUMarin, the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Marin, located at 240 Channing Way in San Rafael.
Thank you for raising $1250 for the Can Do! Foundation!
Last Friday night, we threw a Family Glow In The Dark Stop Drop and Dance class at Mary Silveira to support the Can Do! Education Foundation, which supports Miller Creek Middle School, Vallecito Elementary School, Lucas Valley Elementary School and Mary Silveira Elementary School!
This was our 3rd year organizing this fundraiser class, and the energy of this Can Do! community is always amazing! We took turns inviting different grade levels up on stage and we even had teachers and parents represent!
Thank you so much to everyone who came and to our Can Do! hosts, Leah Curran, Heather DiGiorgio, Susanah Gasper, Jennifer Ishii, Suneela Jain and Amy Poirier for promoting, decorating, checking in, dancing on stage, and providing refreshments and snacks afterwards! Thank you also to Sara Gooch for capturing photos and videos of the evening!
It's amazing what a positive community CAN DO! together!
Happy Oscar’s Glitz Birthdays Paula Todd and Kim Stuart (5-0)!
Last Thursday morning we came in our shiniest and sparkliest clothes to celebrate Paula Todd and Kim Stuart's Birthdays for a 75 minute Stop Drop and Dance class!
Paula and Kim each chose songs for half of the playlist but ended up overlapping with a sweaty and high intensity hip hop theme with artists like Missy Elliot, Usher and Bruno Mars!
Paula brought sparkly headbands for everyone and we were so happy that her besties Marsha Cellar and Kathleen Dowd joined the party AND her daughter Emily came as well for the first time (“Yeah!!!). Thank you also to Sharon Kovalsky and Elaine McCarthy for coming to support Kim, who is their Pilates instructor!
Thank you to everyone who came and shared so much positivity, energy and love in the room for Paula and Kim!

I have chosen to chaperone my 4th grade daughter's upcoming 3 day / 2 night outdoor Gold Rush education trip to Coloma. I really am feeling nervous and uncomfortable about it, especially because I'm naturally introverted, a wimp when it comes to being cold, a clean freak, and I really prefer my own bed...
But, this will be the last opportunity to be an outdoor ed chaperone at their particular school (only teachers and staff chaperone starting 5th grade), and my daughter is actually begging for me to go. My initial "No, I definitely can't go" response began to weigh heavier and heavier on my heart as I realized that this moment is not about me feeling uncomfortable. This moment is about the fact that she still needs me right now, and I know I will feel regret not saying yes for her.
Therefore, I will not be teaching Wednesday, March 12th or Thursday, March 13th. Classes resume Saturday, March 15th!
As a solo instructor, I really am grateful for all of you and your understanding to changes in our class schedule and my family priorities, which usually correlate to school vacations and holidays. This is a big reason why it was important for me to establish a membership site where classes are recorded and you can always have access to our previous classes on-demand. I hope you have found the site helpful.
