Puppy Lessons

There is so much to do.

I have a notebook that I keep on my desk next to my computer and every week I make a checklist of important to-do's as well as items I eventually need to follow-up on later in the month.

It feels endless.

Once I check something off, there's ALWAYS something else, and that follow-up list just keeps getting transferred to the following week's notebook page.

And that doesn't even include the daily chores of life, taking care of family, working, events on the calendar, social obligations...

"Stop focusing on how stressed you are,

and remember how BLESSED you are."

This is the lesson that my 11-week-old puppies have been teaching me lately.

They are sucking up SO much of my time because they wake up at odd hours of the night, need to be taken out every 30 minutes, have accidents, want my attention, and are basically a complete distraction to my normal work productivity.

And yet, when they give me their puppy breath kisses, or wag their tail at me even though I just held them, or look at me with those sad puppy eyes...

I just can't help but melt and remember that THIS is what life is about.   Puppies and dogs understand the truest meaning of life.

We are here to PLAY.
We are here to be loyal.
We are here to serve others.
We are here to share true joy.

We are here to forgive quickly.
We are here to live in the moment.
We are here to cheer each other on.
We are here to protect our loved ones.
We are here to connect with one another.

We are here to give genuine unconditional LOVE.

Puppies are so wise, aren't they?

Love,
Grace
